Our outreach programs are designed to improve the quality of life in your community by providing essential services to those in need. We work with local organizations and volunteers to identify areas of need and create programs that address those needs.
Our volunteer program provides individuals with the opportunity to make a positive impact in their community. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, including mentoring, tutoring, and community service projects.
Our community assistance fund provides financial assistance to those in need. We understand that unexpected expenses can be a burden, and we believe that everyone deserves access to basic necessities like food, shelter, and medical care.
We maintain an up-to-date database of community resources, including food banks, shelters, and other essential services. Our goal is to connect individuals with the services they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives. https://socialservicesmn.org

Our community support network provides a safe and welcoming space for individuals to connect with others and receive peer support. We offer a variety of support groups and counseling services to help individuals cope with life's challenges.
A major component in supporting the individuals that we engage with is in understanding that people we help are in all walks of recovery. This includes the beginning stages of use, those in active addiction, people that are wanting to know about recovery, and people who have already begun their recovery journey. Our focus is on meeting the individual where they are at.
Social Services of Minnesota welcomes all members of society that are interested in improving skills that address recovery through peer support. Individuals with experience in the justice system and or substance use often are marginalized and underrepresented in accessing support services. This creates a greater challenge when trying to reestablish ones self into our community, employment, or securing housing. Providing opportunities to learn, grow, and develop the skills to be able to navigate the current barriers is crucial to personal success and stability.
By collaborating with Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee for a weekly group meeting, Social Services of Minnesota is able to have real discussions related to individual success and personal advancement through sharing resources and information that shape how our community grows.
For grievances or concern please consult our grievance committee member joseph.powers@socialmn.org or call our crisis hotline at 612-401-4864 and press three to connect to an advocate. Additionally, you can contact the Minnesota Certification Board at 763-434-9787 or the Office of Inspector General. For instructions on filing a tip on a CLASSIFIED matter, call 1-800-447-8477.
We offer job search assistance, resume building workshops, and vocational training programs to help individuals find and maintain employment. Please contact the office number and we will connect you with an employment navigator.
